I started my Mary Kay business like so many others, as a fun hobby! I was most excited about having personal access to all the products at a great discount for the rest of my life. I was also excited about learning how to take better care of my skin and how to apply color while using a high quality brand of products all scientifically tested together as opposed to the expensive, hodge podge of products I was using.
When I started my Mary Kay business, I was busy! I was working 60-70 hour work weeks and I was on call 24/7. Yes, you can say I was "married" to my job but I loved it, loved the income and wasn't looking to add anything else into my plate. What attracted me the most to Mary Kay was the Freedom and Flexibility to work as little or as much as I wanted to, where I wanted to and when I wanted to but I quickly fell in love with the philosophies of the company, the female mentorship and the positive environment and believed every woman I knew could benefit from the same.
I chose to leave my fulltime position in Medical Sales a year after starting my Mary Kay business because I knew there was a calling on my life to mentor and empower women to live more fullfilling lives.
As I'm about to give birth to my first child, I am so grateful that I not only chose to start my Mary Kay business not knowing what would come of it for me...but that I also chose to plug into everything that was available to me, stepped outside my comfort zone when stepping out wasn't easy and worked while I could to elevate myself personally and professionally to a place where I can still work but can work without sacrificing my faith and my family.
When we let go of the life we have planned for ourselves, we can joyfully live in the life God has waiting for us.

I did not know that I was searching for something new when Mary Kay came into my life. I was excited about making a little bit of extra income while my husband, Zach, was living in New Jersey. I was equally as excited that Mary Kay would offer me the freedom of putting my business on the back burner when Zach was home thanks to our No Quotes philosophy.
My business quickly took off and I loved being able to work with women and make them feel great. Three and a half years later I am so thankful that I said yes to ordering a starter kit. Mary Kay has allowed me to leave my full time job and build a business that comes after the needs of my family. I am able to stay home with our beautiful son, Isaac, part time, I am living my dream of having a diaper bag in one hand and a brief case in the other. It has been an incredible blessing to our family and my days at home are second to none.
With God as my business partner I continue to grow my business and fall more in love with the life I am living through this company. Mary Kay relationships are special and unique. I never knew that my starter kit would come with such amazing women and a bright future….I will be forever grateful for this opportunity!

I started my Mary Kay Business to save money and get a great deal. Being a numbers girl and someone who loves a bargain, it was very clear after doing the math that purchasing the starter kit would save me money! I was not interested in making any money on product sales, because I was not (nor am I now) the “sales type”; and with no sales quotas, I knew I would be able to receive a 50% discount on my products, which was exactly all that I was interested in.
When I purchased the starter kit, I was an accountant working for a large corporation, and thought it was my dream job – getting up every day and doing the same thing, day in and day out, because that was what I went to school for. After a bit more exposure to the Mary Kay opportunity, I learned that maybe there was something else out there! I quickly became attracted to the company’s philosophies, beliefs, positivity, and choices each business owner has the privilege of getting. After hearing that one woman, 50 years ago, created a dream company to enrich the lives of women and provide an opportunity for them to be a faith-filled mother & wife first and then work their executive level income career was very appealing to me. How was I going to be the mother and wife I wanted to be while working a corporate 7am-5pm job every day? It didn’t seem possible to me after seeing the Mary Kay alternative.
Mary Kay has great quality of products, which are for sale (woman do love makeup!!), however the primary focus is to treat others the way we want to be treated – making them feel important, helping them with their needs/wants and building their confidence, by having fun and looking good!
I am so blessed this dream career was passed onto me, and I feel privileged to have the honor of passing it onto others. Giving them an opportunity to live their life filled with choices & positivity, the chance to maximize their God-given strengthens, and the ability to receive numerous financial rewards.
